Newborn Portrait Sessions

Frequently Asked Questions
When should I plan my Newborn Session?
To save money on your newborn photography session you can schedule it at the same time that you book your maternity session. By booking both sessions before you enter your 3rd trimester, you will save 20% on your total. Keep in mind that change and grow a lot in the first 2 weeks, so it's best to have your photos done within that time frame. Sessions book as fast as your baby will grow, so have your newborn photo session booked at least 2 months before baby is born.
Also consider that a baby may be born late or early. Booking 2 months ahead allows your newborn photographer to reserve a window of time just in case baby is born before and after your expected due date. To be sure that the photographer will be available for your newborn's arrival, you'll want to book your newborn photo session at least 2 months before your expected due date.
What if my baby is born earlier than I expected?
Booking 2 months ahead allows your newborn photographer to reserve a window of time just in case baby is born before and after your expected due date. You'll want to book your newborn session at least 2 months before so your photographer can save an extra time slot 1 day before and 1 day after your expected due date.
Do I need to provide my baby’s props and outfits?
No, not necessarily. If you have a special newborn outfit or something sentimental you’d like to use, we will include it in your portraits. If not, that is quite alright too. Your photographer will come prepared with newborn props and outfits. If you have a color or style preference you should let your photographer know so she can bring outfits and props that will match your vision.
Is it safe to photograph a baby in the hospital?
Yes! Your photographer has received specialized training to safely handle newborns in a home or hospital setting. Her props are sanitized to meet CDC guidelines. Your baby will be in clean, safe hands.
Is my apartment big enough? Will there be enough light?
Because your newborn photographer specializes in natural light, most small apartments work great for newborn portraits. A little light from a window and a cleared out space of about 4ft by 5ft  should be great to capture beautiful photos of your newborn and family. If you'd like to double check with your photographer that you have adequate light and space, don't hesitate to reach out.
